“I tell everyone about the Attic because I‘ve found everything here – this place has the best stuff. The best purchase for me personally was a piano just like my grandmother’s.” Barbara Marken, Gainesville Attic shopper

“You can come here and find things you can’t find anywhere else. I see things here that I haven’t seen anywhere in years. I’ve got a lot of friends who come here, too.”  Bonnie Burton, Lake City Attic shopper

Make a difference by volunteering
Attic volunteers receive merchandise discounts
Haven Attic volunteers make a difference by sorting donations, stocking the floor and making friends. But above all, they help people throughout the Haven Hospice community—patients and families, as well as people who have challenging economic circumstances and need an affordable place to shop. Haven is seeking energetic, conscientious volunteers who are mindful of the Haven mission. We truly could not do what we do without our volunteers.

You can also support the Attic by hosting a donation drive or bringing the Rollin’ Attic van to your place of business or neighborhood.  Call the Gainesville Attic for information.

Your donations also benefit the larger community—from people who need an affordable place to shop, to kids who need clothes for school. The Attic partners with local organizations and businesses to provide clothing and other essential items for those in need, including the homeless. In addition, helps families in need during the holidays by hosting the annual Kids’ Holiday Shopping Night at both the Lake City and Gainesville locations

Pet therapy brings comfort to Haven Hospice patients
Even the tiniest dog is lionhearted, and the same can be said of Mia, a five-month-old Jack Russell terrier who visits with patients at the Tri-Counties Hospice Care Center. “She has a sense when she’s here of what she has to do,” says her owner. Patients welcome Mia like a gift. “It’s soothing for them and they love to pet her.”
